To whet your appetite, below is a picture of a wonderful bowl donated by a North Carolina potter, Steven Forbes-deSoule.
Mr. Forbes’ pots are raku but are sealed with liquid silicone (grout and tile sealer) so they’ll hold water. One of his containers was used in an exhibit and had water in it for a month straight without leaking or sweating. The bowl is formed on a wheel and altered. The 3 small holes at the top are a design element, which permits the user to dump all of the water out. It is glazed with the designer’s proprietary ‘“space rock” glaze; the red around the rim is a fired on underglaze.
