About Ikebana Naples
Friendship Through Flowers
The Naples Chapter of Ikebana International #160 is a vibrant community of artists, students, and enthusiasts who come together to explore and share the art of Ikebana. Founded in 1972, our chapter includes teachers and practitioners from four major Ikebana schools:
Ikenobo
Ohara
Sogetsu
Kado Sensho Ikenobo
We offer a full calendar of programs during the year — including demonstrations, hands-on workshops, guest speakers, member exhibits, and special events. Most of our meetings are held at the Naples Botanical Garden in Kapnick Hall, a serene and inspiring setting for our creative practice.
Whether you’re a seasoned practitioner or brand new to Ikebana, we welcome your curiosity, your participation, and your love of beauty.

What is Ikebana?
Ikebana is the centuries-old Japanese art of flower arrangement. Rooted in mindfulness and simplicity, it is much more than decorative floral design—it is a disciplined practice that emphasizes line, form, space, and natural beauty. Unlike Western floral arranging, Ikebana is often asymmetrical and uses empty space as an intentional and expressive element. Every arrangement reflects harmony between nature and the artist’s spirit.
Ikebana brings a sense of peace and attentiveness to both the creator and the viewer. It is an art form that continues to evolve, embracing modern expression while honoring traditional forms.
